The ComedySportz is excited to offer the following upcoming
workshop: Developing Group Mind with Kat Gotsick
A Workshop for Coaches: Developing Stunning Group Mind
When: Sunday, August 22nd from 3-6pm
Where: The ComedySportz Theatre (929 W. Belmont Ave.)
It's
easy to teach improv skills. You can coach skills ad nauseum and still
wonder at the end of the night why a team isn't fun to watch. Group mind
is the X factor. Great chemistry can make a team transcend their
individual talents. A team will invariably die without chemistry. This
workshop is inspired by the work of Liz Allen. Coaches who take it will
leave with an arsenal of exercises to use with teams who are full of
talented individuals but don't seem to click.
Katherine Gotsick
has been teaching and improvising for the last 11 years in Chicago. She
has taught at Second City, ComedySportz, in the Playground's Director's
Series and at the Chicago Improv Festival. She's coached and
sub-coached more than 40 teams that perform at iO, ComedySportz, the
Playground, Second City and other venues. She loves to teach and coach
and frequently gets top ratings from her students.
