What brought you to ComedySportz?
I have been improvising since 1997. So that’s 12 years.

What is your favorite thing about doing shows at ComedySportz?
Our audiences! ComedySportz audiences are the best and so diverse! CSz is the only place in town where a bachelor party, a girl scout troupe and a tour bus of senior citizens can exist in the same audience and everyone has a great time!

Are you involved in any other shows? If so, what kind?
I perform regularly at iO with Mike Helicopter and at the Playground with Space Robbers. I can also be seen around town in The Beatbox and with my two-person show, Cathcart & Olson – where I perform with my husband and fellow Csz ensemble member Jay Olson.

Have you done improv comedy anywhere outside of Chicago?
Yes. I’ve spent a fair amount of time on the road doing corporate work and teaching and performing at improv and comedy festivals. I’ve improvised in Scotland, Ireland, Canada and all over the US.

What is something about you that has nothing to do with performing?
I fancy myself a bit of a foodie/bon vivant. I love trying new foods and recipes. I love to cook and throw dinner parties. There’s nothing better than dining with friends and then settling in for an evening of conversation and board games.

If you had to pick someone to model yourself, who would it be?
Every since I was a kid, I’ve loved Madeline Kahn. She was amazingly talented actress and a brilliant comedienne. But I guess she’s more of my comedy role model – I don’t think she really improvised. My improv role model would probably be Dina Facklis. She is wonderfully intelligent and funny. And is one of the most supportive improvisers I’ve ever seen.
