Nothing says Christmas like animated holiday TV specials from the 70's, and nothing says Chicago comedy like a live parody of a cult classic.
"The Year Without A Santa Claus" is the story of what happens when Santa Claus decides to take a year off to nurse a bad cold. In response, two elves, Jingle and Jangle, venture out into the world to prove that the Christmas Spirit is still alive and well. Along the way, we meet the famous Heat Miser, the Snow Miser, and Mother Nature. With narration by a jovial Mrs. Claus and more than enough memorable musical numbers, this show is a perfect treat for whole family.
Heat Miser - Jeannie Cahill

The Hot Karl Sixth Anniversary Show July 16th!
Chicago's late night Adult - ADULT - comedy show turns six. To celebrate, the show is extended to two acts, and promises to include special guests from the Chicago comedy scene. Sometimes sublime, sometimes ridiculous, and always hard on the stomach, The Hot Karl remains "so wrong, so horrible, so funny." |
  |
|
Jack Helbig of The Chicago READER gave The Hot Karl "Critic's Choice" on their 3rd anniversary, saying: "They summon up the kind of witty scenes other improv troupes would kill for. Certainly that intelligence explains why, after three years, The Hot Karl still packs 'em in every Saturday at midnight." (8/30/02)
